Heh, nothing I can argue with there really. Although my heart mostly chases after Wash, becasue they're both funny but Wash brings the wit.

You know, I never saw the slash in Firefly and then someone suggested to me Mal/Simon and I went 'what the hell? Where did that come from?' So I went back, rewatched the serise and now it's like there's slash of all kinds all the way through it lol.

And you're welcome :o)

spamming just a little
Ah yes, I do love Wash. Just, in a non-sexual way. That actor is one of the funniest guys ever, and you gotta love Wash for not being afraid to seem weak, too. In the series, I think Simon is adorable but with a brilliant venomous sarcasm that peaks out now and then, which I totally love. In fact, I have very warm, fuzzy feelings for all the characters except perhaps Book and Inara (ok, maybe not exactly fuzzy about River either, but she has her moments). I saw Serenity by the time I had learned that *Slash is everywhere!*, and only saw Firefly last week for the first time so... It's not hugely, obviously slashy, but when you know where to look... Possibly I like Jayne more because he's slightly more likeable in the movie than in the series, while the opposite is true for Simon. Having seen only Serenity, J/M was my obvious pairing, but due to a friend's fic and having watched the series, J/S is now looking very promising. See, everything is so much more *fun* when you're a slasher!! :D

conversation is not spam :o)
I agree with your comments about Wash and Simon - I love Simon's snarkiness. I tend not to love characters because of drool-worthiness though. :o/ (Mostly I love all the different interactions between the characters, how they play off one another.)

I only saw Firefly for the first time this year, but I watched Serenity after I'd watched the serise. Yes, I think Jayne is more likeable in the film, although I think I liked him best in Heart of Gold, and when he was teasing River about her food at the start of The Message. Simon in the film is more of a worrier, from the start when River is out on the robbery, then they have to leave the ship, then everyone thinks River is crazy (even more than usual), even Kaylee, and for him it seems like the whole ship is against him, whereas in the serise he has relaxed moments, chances to be sarcastic, be likeable.

Heh, I don't know about slashing being more fun than Het or Gen, 'cause I'm a fan of all three. I was awfully amused with myself when I started seeing it in Firefly though. :o)

Good points about the characters. Late comer or not, I think I shall never forgive that the show was cancelled so quickly.

Oh you're totally right - I should have said everything is more fun when you've got fanfic on the brain! =) I just like the extra naughty of slashing.
The great thing is we all get to pick and choose our favourite pieces from the big candybag that is fic...
