'welcome to 2008'
I have had a fair few train journeys lately.  Whilst on one such journey I wondered what this random 'Pottercast' thing was that I seemed to have downloaded onto my ipod and ended up listening to the first podcast of 2008, which was amusing in and of itself.  Having listening to a few more I found myself wondering about this thing called 'Wizard Rock', which I'd heard of but never actually listened to.  One thing lead to another, as it so often does, and 'Jingle Spells 2' is now (the first and only Christmas type music) on my ipod.

I feel as if I've reached an important milestone: read all seven books, attend midnight release, watch films, read and write fanfiction/admire and make art/icons, listen to podcasts, listen to Wizard Rock, stalk JK Rowling...

Dear fandom,
You own my soul.
Much amusement, Me

feeling: amusedamused

I just finished listening to Jingle Spells 2 this morning and it's just so totally depressing. Jingle Spells 1 was much perkier. I think I'm disappointed.

Must send you more wrock! How big an attachment can you receive?

I liked 'It Came Upon A Midnight Clear', 'Christmastime At School' made me laugh, and the mandrake song causes me amusement, but yes, there were some downbeat tunes.

Oh, wow, as big as hotmail can handle I guess. *bounces*

I'll work on it. I don't have a lot of faith in hotmail. Time you upgraded to Gmail, lady. Then I could sent you huge attachments and chat at you!

Hotmail always did alright by me, but they updated it again lately and now it takes ages to load, for some reason. Bah.

*is curious* What is this Gmail of which you speak?

It is the email made by Google, with the massive storage and attachment handling and built in chat and documents and all kinds of awesome stuff.

This I may have to check out.

I went through the same thing a few months ago - although I haven't heard that particular song, yet - and being a fan is much more fun than I ever expected. :D

It's a christmas album/compilation and not a song title, so you may have heard some of the songs. Um, 'It Came Upon A Midnight Clear', 'Christmastime At School', 'Snowy Owl'...bah, can't think of anymore of the top of my head, but it's on itunes, if that helps.

I was thinking the fandom might ease off, as it were, now the books were all done, with bright points when the films came out, but no. The Harry Potter fandom is a thing of beauty. :oD And it comes complete with music. How 'bout that.

Now I feel bad because I ran out of space for my HP icons... :(

I think I may have heard one or two, so I'll have to look into it. But seriously, I love this fandom. ♥ It was the first place I felt at home, and it just keeps getting better... plus, the music is amazing.

No HP icons?! The horror!

Redwall was my first real fandom, I think, in terms of getting involved with online communities, but the Potter fandom is just so huge, encompassing so many different people and so many different things - fanfiction, music, charities, podcasts... And I love that it not only failed to stop after the serise was finished but keeps growing. :oD

I know. I need to fix that, but I'm too attached to all my current icons. :S

Yeah - I wrote some crappy fanfiction for a few of my favourite movies before this, but there was no real fandom interaction, which made me sad.:( I know... it's amazing how much this fandom has grown, and I think it's one of the reasons I will always love the books: they give us so much to talk about and work from, and because of them, I've met the most amazing people.

Oh, you must download Draco and the Malfoys. Seriously.

Heh, I'll have to go look for them. I think they were the group that did the Voldemort's Christmas story/carol song on Jingle Spells 2, with little Voldy that wanted a puppy...'tis amusing. *grins*
